So, once upon a time, I had a bunch of indie game dev friends (most of whom, like me, never really got anywhere with it), and this track originally started as a commission from one of them, looking for an “tropical island-themed boss battle”. But then he ghosted and never paid for it so I said fuck doing commissions and just turned it into one of my songs.
I was going for a dub/reggae type vibe, but a little faster and a lot creepier, and I think it turned out pretty awesome. Especially after I added that bassline.
